Farm Tires

Farm tires are a unique, specialized design.

Farm tires require a special rubber compound that holds up to years of hard use, and is resistant to punctures, gouges, and tears.

For a farmer, preservation of fields and soil is paramount; soil that is loose and not compacted means better growth and development of plans and a more robust microbial life. Farm tires, then, have to be able to achieve traction in all kinds of soil conditions, yet they need to be able to disperse the weight of the vehicle to avoid soil compaction. For some specialized applications, low-pressure flotation tires are used to reduce the downward pressure from vehicle weight.

Finally, farm tires have to be up to the challenge of driving on hard surfaces as well. Considering roads between storage sites and silos, trips to remote access fields or towing activities, some farmers spend as much as 50 percent of their vehicles’ time driving on hard surfaces and roads.
